Sponsored by the Australian Government through the National Landcare Programme’s Sustainable Industry Initiatives Partnerships, this portal aims to provide a vital source of information about irrigation in this country. It currently links to more than 250 relevant websites and as many as 1000 useful web pages.

What the portal will do

The portal will make it easier for you to find basic and detailed information about a wide array of topics. For example, there are links to facts and figures about irrigation in Australia, irrigation best practice, innovation and technology, case studies, resources, availability, water trading, water policy, standards, regulations, research, education, training, publications, events, and even weather forecasts. Over time, there will be a comprehensive directory of irrigation stakeholders in this country.

A team of professional communicators has been working many months to prepare this website, with one of the most challenging tasks being the actual search for the best information on irrigation. We have found that many likely websites do not even mention irrigation, and those that do often bury the topic. So we hope our efforts on this portal will ensure that irrigation gains a higher profile across the community.
